We are capitalizing on our core technologies in the fields of synthetic chemistry, pharmacology, and physiology for the development of pharmaceuticals and home health care services. Our R&D, ranging from basic research to clinical development, has enabled us to make a strong showing in key therapeutic areas, namely, respiratory disease, bone and joint disease, and metabolic and cardiovascular disease. Combining of medical products and home health care services is a major feature of our R&D; and now, our new efforts are geared toward fusing IT, one of our core technologies, to these products and services. For example, telemedicine system that allows self-management for severe asthma patients has already been deployed in the market. We will continue to deploy disease management systems that take full advantage of communication systems.
